Up to half a million GEL, safe and valuables got taken from the microfinance organization Intel Express located on Ilia Chavchavadze Avenue, Kutaisi.
Unidentified persons entered the building of the microfinance organization from the basement of a multi-story building. They cut the ceiling of the basement, which is the floor of the bank.
After the alarm went off, security guards arrived at the scene; however, they returned because the bank door and window were intact.
"When the alarm went off, security police officers arrived but did not open the facility because the locks were not damaged. The robbers entered the place from the basement. The security police did not enter the safe," the organization's lawyer said.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs confirms the incident. According to the agency, the investigation was launched under Article 177, which stipulates theft. According to the Ministry, active investigative measures are underway to arrest the robbers.
