One person arrested for storing and transporting large amount of excise-free cigarettes

The Investigative Service of the Ministry of Finance of Georgia has detained one person for storing and transporting a large amount of excise-free cigarettes, the press service of the agency informed report.ge.

According to them, as a result of investigative actions, in the Samtskhe-Javakheti region, 1,548 boxes of tobacco products of different denominations - cigarettes without Georgian excise stamp were seized.

"The total market value of the seized goods exceeds GEL 6,600. The vehicle that transported excise-free cigarettes got also seized during the investigation. The investigation is underway under the second part of Article 200 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which envisages imprisonment for a term of 4 to 6 years," reads the information spread by the Investigation Service of the Ministry of Finance.
