Police seize illegal firearms in Tejola, western Georgia

In Rupoti, Georgia's Terjola municipality, police seized illegal firearms and ammunition and detained one.

"A person, identified only as R.Ts., born in 1990, previously convicted, accused of illegal acquisition and storage of firearms and ammunition," the Interior Ministry said.

As police reports, as a result of a search of the accused's apartment, an automatic firearm of the AKC model of the Kalashnikov system, a magazine, and 29 live rounds were seized.

He pleaded guilty.

The detainee faces three to six years in jail.
