A 35-year-old woman was arrested on charges of human trafficking in Tbilisi. Report.ge was informed by the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
“The investigation revealed that the accused I.U. born in 1984 was forcing her juvenile children M.U. born in 2006 and N.U. born in 2007 to work illegally. I.U. forced her children to collect mercy on Peking Avenue through psychological pressure. If the teenagers did not raise enough money, the mother threatened them with physical and sexual assault. During the investigation, on the basis of the judge's verdict, video and audio recordings were made, as well as photos were taken and telephone listened, confirming the systematic exploitation of underage children by the accused”, the agency reports.
According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the investigation is in progress under the article 143, part 2, subparagraph (b) of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which deals with human trafficking in minors.
The crime envisages from 11 to 15 years of imprisonment.
