Botticelli's Portrait of a Young Man holding a Medallion sold for $ 92 million

A painting by Renaissance Italian artist Sandro Botticelli, "Portrait of a Young Man holding a Medallion," sold for $ 92.2 million at a New York auction.

The painting dates back to about 1480. Initially, experts estimated the cost of the painting at $ 80 million.

It is noteworthy that the painting became the most expensive work of the Renaissance artist ever presented at auction.
