Tbilisi to become the World Book Capital

According to the Tbilisi City Hall, on the World Book and Copyright Day, Tbilisi will become the World Book Capital for one year.

The joint project of Tbilisi City Hall and UNESCO will officially open today, April 23, at 16:30, at the "Silk Factory."

Kakha Kaladze, the Mayor of the capital, will receive the status of the book capital from the delegation of the Kuala Lumpur City Hall.

World Book Capital is a large-scale project established in 2001 by the decision of the General Conference of UNESCO. The first capital was Madrid, and last year Kuala Lumpur became the book capital, and despite the global pandemic, successfully implemented the project.
