Agrarian markets to follow recommendations to prevent virus outbreak

''Only those agrarian markets, that will follow all the required recommendations will open,'' Georgian Agriculture Minister Levan Davitashvili said.

As Davitashvili says, Georgia has 80 agrarian markets, but most of them fail to meet the safety requirements, and all the markets will not be permitted to operate.

He says the markets will gradually resume functioning across Georgia, and the ones meeting new standards are in touch with the National Food Agency.

''The National Food Agency has developed detailed guidelines on hygienic and sanitary norms,'' he says, adding a unique format of the wholesale market has also been elaborated in the lockdown-hit Marneuli municipality.
