As of December 1 last year, the number of employees in Azerbaijan increased by 16.8 thousand people compared to the same period in 2020, by 1.2% and amounted to 1,704.9 thousand.
Of these, 905.7 thousand people are employed in the public sector of the economy, and 799.2 thousand people in the private sector.
In January-November 2021, employees' average monthly nominal wage increased by 2.9% compared to the same period in 2020 and amounted to 724.1 Azerbaijani manats.
The highest salaries were recorded in mining, financial and insurance activities, professional, scientific, and technical activities, information and communications, and transport and warehousing.
