Azerbaijan ranks first in imports of oil bitumen

As the statement of the Union of Importers of Oils of Georgia reads, imports of oil bitumen decreased by 31.1% in January-July.

It says almost 70% of imports come from Azerbaijan.

Following the Union of Importers of Oils, 11.1 thousand tonnes of oil bitumen were imported in July 2020, which is 68.9% of the total imports.

As the organization says, the import of oil bitumen to Georgia last month totaled 16.1 thousand tonnes, which is 0.5 thousand tonnes or 3.2% more than in June (15.6 thousand tonnes) and 3, 2 thousand tonnes, or 16.6% less compared to the same indicator of the previous year (19.3 thousand tonnes).

Iraq ranks second in the import of oil bitumen, accounting for 26.1% (4.2 thousand tonnes) of oil bitumen, while Russia ranks third with 5.0% (0.8 thousand tonnes).

As the Union of Oil Importers reports, imports of oil bitumen in January-July of 2020 totaled 57.2 thousand tonnes, 25.7 thousand tonnes, or 31.1% less than in the same period in 2019 (82.9 thousand tonnes).

Thus, 59.3% (33.9 thousand tonnes) of import falls on Azerbaijan, followed by Iraq - 19.6% (11.2 thousand tonnes), Iran - 13.3% (7.6 thousand tonnes), Russia - 5.6% (3.2 thousand tonnes), Armenia - 1.6% (0.9 thousand tonnes), United Arab Emirates - 0.3% (0.2 thousand tonnes), Turkey - 0.3% (0.2 thousand tonnes).
