Georgia imported 4.2 thousand tons of oil bitumen (84% of the country's total imports) from Azerbaijan in March 2021. Azerbaijan remains Georgia's major supplier of bitumen. In January-February 2021, 84.6% or 4.4 thousand tons of petroleum bitumen was imported from Azerbaijan.
Per the March 2021 data by the Union of Oil Importers, Georgia imported 5 thousand tons of oil bitumen, with the amount exceeding that of February by 1.6 thous tons or 47%.
Last year, oil bitumen imports dropped in Georgia.
