Azerbaijan, Turkey agree on preferential trade

Azerbaijan and Turkey have agreed on preferential trade. The Preferential Trade Agreement between the parties entered into force on March 1. The agreement-related details were published by Turkey. Tariff-free trade of some goods such as cheese, grapes, plum, date palm, tea, herbal cooking and other oils, white sugar, chocolate, cucumber, tomato, and others between countries is provided for in the agreement. Sales quotas will be set for the mentioned goods. For this purpose, Azerbaijan must contact Turkey a month earlier.

Businessmen who falsified their documents and transferred a license to the third party, enabling them to exercises rights envisaged in the agreement, will be unable to apply the mentioned quota; however, they will be entitled to new quotas after five years.
