Azerbaijanis deemed high-spending tourists

According to tourism experts, visitors opting for four and five-star hotels are regarded as high-spending visitors. As experts calculated, they spend $300-400 on accommodation only. Additionally, in similar hotels, tourists spend more on entertainment such as casinos, clubs, bars, relaxation services, and so on.

Azerbaijanis are considered lavish spenders. Tourism expert Nika Kvaratskhelia thinks that Azerbaijani visitors spend more in Georgia than the statistical data have it.

Mr. Kvaratskelia says that high-spending tourists do not often visit Georgia, but Azerbaijani, Turkish, and Hebrew visitors can be deemed extravagant spenders, with Azerbaijanis spending even more in Georgia than the two.

Following the National Tourism Administration report, on average, tourists arriving in Georgia from Azerbaijan in 2019 spent GEL 395 per visit in Georgia. The same year, most international tourists visited Georgia from Azerbaijan, with their number hitting 1,526,619.

It is noteworthy that according to ''Azerbaijan. travel showroom,'' they have resumed work on Georgia-Azerbaijan combined tour packages.

Last year, Georgia and Azerbaijan planned to create joint tour packages for the representatives of the third countries; however, coronavirus frustrated their plans for an indefinite period of time.
