The amendments to be introduced to the 2019 budget envisage reduction of the budget of the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development, with assignations to be reduced by 116.5 million GEL.
The 2019 budget envisages the resources for subsidizing the railway passenger transport tariffs; however, the corresponding legislative amendments has not yet been introduced.
In addition, the assignations of the Ministry envisage electricity supply networks and Vardnili and Enguri Hydro Power Plant rehabilitation projects, and in view of this, recourses are being released. For the purposes of rehabilitation of Vardnili and Enguri generating plants, suspension of their functioning is obligatory, with this not being able to be afforded this year.
According to David Tvalabeishvili, the Deputy Minister of Economy, Enguri / Vardnili Hydro Power Cascade Rehabilitation will be implemented the following year.
