Economic Minister observes repair work at Kutaisi International Airport

Minister of Economic and Sustainable Development of Georgia Natia Turnava visited the Kutaisi David the Builder International Airport to see the repair work.

The efforts are underway to prepare the airport before the start of the summer season.

“In two months, we will expand the airport, where the number of check-in counters has increased, and the number of border checkpoints has almost doubled,” Turnava said.

In her words, the airport will serve 1,200 passengers per hour.

A baggage management system has been installed at the airport, which is already in test mode, and fire extinguishing and water supply systems.

Besides, there are 18 check-in counters, two of which are baggage drop counters.

The airport roof is equipped with the so-called green cover, and terrace with landscaping.

Upon completion of the new airport terminal, the old and new terminals will be merged.
