Fuel price rises

As the Union of Oil Importers of Georgia reports, the price of oil this year fluctuated unevenly.

Specifically, as the department explains, high prices at the beginning of the year were replaced by record low prices in recent years, associated with the COVID-19 pandemic.

According to various competent estimates, during the pandemic, world daily oil consumption fell by an average of 12-14 million barrels per day.

As Director of the Union of Oil Importers, Vano Mtvralashvili, says, after OPEC + made an unprecedented decision to reduce oil production by the parties to the agreement (from May by 9.7 million barrels per day) and at the same time began the process of restoring the world economy - lifting the general quarantine in countries, restoration of air and land transport links, the opening of various sectors of the economy.

All this led to an increase in oil demand.

Currently, the average retail prices for fuel at branded filling stations in Georgia's retail network are: regular fuel - 1.99-2.07 GEL/liter, premium fuel - 2.06-2.17 GEL/ liter, diesel Euro -2.09. -2.19 GEL/ liter, diesel - 2.02-2.12 GEL/liter.
