Georgia buys most power from Azerbaijan

Following the data of JSC ESCO, in January – May 2020, 787 mln kWh power was imported to Georgia.

The 2020 Jan-May rate exceeds the 2019 same period indicator by about 28%.

Most of the power was imported from Azerbaijan.

In January – May 2020, Georgia purchased approximately 416 mln kWh electricity from its neighbor country, while from Russia, it bought 371 mln kWh.

The Georgia-exported power has dropped to 72.30 mln kWh.

Georgia exported the power to Azerbaijan, Armenia, and Turkey.
