Georgia's budget saves 100 mln GEL via tenders

Georgia saved approximately GEL 100 million via consolidated tenders in 2019.

As the State Procurement Agency reports, as part of the 2019 consolidated tenders, contracts of 403 million GEL value were concluded.

In 2019, the estimated total initial purchase value was 419 million GEL.

After the bidding, 16 million GEL was saved, and the final amount hit 403 million GEL.

The resulting savings exceeded 100 million GEL relative to retail and wholesale prices for relevant procurement items.

The most considerable savings occurred during a consolidated tender for the purchase of fuel - 31.9 million GEL.

The tender for the purchase of computer equipment helped the government save 3.3 million GEL, and the bid for printers and cartridges - 11.5 million GEL.

Savings when purchasing airtime on television hit 19.9 million GEL.

The government saved approximately 17.5 million GEL when purchasing cars.
