Georgia sees deteriorated economic and fiscal forecasts

For the novel coronavirus pandemic, Georgia sees deteriorated economic and fiscal prognoses, reads a document of the Georgian government regarding the budget and macroeconomic parameters.

"As the International Monetary Fund reports, the loss of the balance of payments of Georgia in 2020 will reach 1.4 billion USD, and in 2021 - 0.4 billion USD,'' the document reads.

Following the document, international financial organizations will ensure Georgia with financial aid.

"Therefore, currently, Georgia's macroeconomic policy aims to improve the economy to ensure the resumption of potential indicators and macroeconomic stability,'' the document says.

Under the forecast, Georgia's trade partners expect a decline in economic growth.

The Georgian government projects the improvement from the fourth quarter of 2020.

It says Georgia will see a four percent economic growth in 2021.
