Georgia to reopen exchange booths on June 8

Under the government decision, exchange booths all over Georgia will resume operation starting June 8, 2020, the National Bank of Georgia reports.

"The National Bank of Georgia calls on the exchange booths employees to strictly follow the professional's recommendations. We will be able to defeat the virus and resume usual work swiftly," the National Bank states.

As the Association of Exchange reports, about 800 currency exchange booths operate in Georgia.

The booths provide about one million clients with service daily.

About 400 people are employed in the sector.

The Georgian government closed the exchange booths on April 1 to prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus.
