Georgian terrorist suspect detained in Kiev

In cooperation with The State Security Service of Georgia,The Security Service of Ukraine has detained Georgian citizen Tsezar Tokhosashvili, who was charged for engaging in terrorism and participating in a terrorist organization, in the city of Kiev. Tokhosashvili was on Interpol's Red Notice Wanted list. 

This information has been released by the State Security Service of Georgia.

"Following the investigation by the Counter-terrorism Center of the State Security Service of Georgia, it was determined that in 2014, Tsezar Tokhosashvili went to the Syrian Arab Republic and engaged in military operations against the authorities. 

Following the investigation, it was determined that in 2015, Tsezar Tokhosashvili was enlisted in Islamic State (IS) terrorist organization. He had a close relationship with leaders of Islamic State Tarkhan Batirashvili, Islam Atabiev and Akhmed Chataev. 

On 9 November 2019, The Tbilisi City Court sentenced Tsezar Tokhosashvili to imprisonment," reads the statement.
