Government to help with utility bills from November

A total of GEL 60 million to help citizens pay their utility bills has been allocated in the govt's draft budget.

Benefits will be granted to the public for four months, starting in November for up to 200 kWh of electricity.

"Due to the social and economic difficulties caused by the coronavirus, GEL 60 million has been allocated for assisting citizens in paying their utility bills, with this envisaged in the Social Assistance Program, which is part of the Anti-Crisis Plan," the document reads.
