Government to start resuming tourism from Georgian regions

"We are starting to resume tourism from the regions, but not from Tbilisi,'' Georgian Prime Minister Giorgi Gakharia said.

As he declared, the government can manage risks better in Kakheti and other regions than – in capital Tbilisi.

Gakharia made this statement when it held a meeting with tourism sector officials in the region of Kakheti.

In PM Gakharia's words, the government should make every single step exceptionally carefully.

"We should act in a way that will not jeopardize Georgia's reputation as a country efficiently coping with COVID-19,'' he said.

In his words, Georgia effectively manages coronavirus-linked risks.

"Otherwise, tourism cannot recover, and we will have no visitors," Giorgi Gakharia stated.
