Inflation in Turkey at 19.89%

According to the Turkish Statistical Office, consumer prices in the country rose by 19.89% in October, local news agency Anadolu writes.

On a monthly basis, the consumer price index increased by 2.39% in October.

Last month, the highest annual growth was recorded in food and non-alcoholic beverages - by 27.41%, hotels and cafes - by 25.53%, and furniture and household appliances - by 23.03%.

The Central Bank of Turkey has raised its 2021 inflation forecast to 18.4%.
