The Martvili Canyon Development Project has been awarded with the Landscape Award of the Council of Europe for its outstanding importance as well as for contributing to the environmental awareness to the public.
According to Zaza Gagua, the Director of the Administration of Martvili and Okatze Natural Monuments a number of projects that have played a significant role in restoring landscapes in Europe were participating. Gagua noted that these are the projects that set an example of how the world's landscapes should be restored, managed, involving people in the process.
