Number of containers shipped by BTK increases by 63%

In January-July of 2021, 13 610 TEU container transit was carried out through the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway.

According to ADY Container, this figure is 63% higher than the same period last year.

The increase was particularly significant last month. In particular, in July of 2021, the number of containers shipped is 2.1 times higher than the same period last year.

92% of the containers shipped within seven months were transit cargo.

Most of the transported goods are non-ferrous metallurgy and chemical products, as well as grain products, textiles, animal feed, and construction materials.

Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway line was put into operation on October 30, 2017. To date, 33,267 TEU containers have been transported through it.
