Number of Georgia's Azerbaijani visitors drop by 97.4%

The number of international visitors visiting Georgia in April 2020 decreased by 93.8% than in April 2019. A total of 78.3% were tourists.

The number of tourists dropped by 92.3% from an annual point of view. One-day visits also decreased in April 2020.

Following the National Bank of Georgia, the number of international visitors from Azerbaijan (97.4%), Russia (91.5%) and Armenia (91.5%) sharply decreased.

"For the prevention of the spread of the coronavirus pandemic, many countries of the world, including Georgia, declared a state of emergency in March and closed borders. It naturally affected the number of visitors to Georgia. The number of visitors drastically dropped from Germany (-99.3%), Poland (-99.8%), and France (-99.3%). In general, the number of visitors from all the globe has declined," the National Bank of Georgia says.
