OPEC could not agree on a new Secretary-General

OPEC countries have not reached a consensus on the candidacy of the next Secretary-General of the organization. The resolution of this issue was postponed until January.

The new Secretary-General is to replace the current head of the cartel, Mohammed Barkindo, next year.

The Minister of Energy of Audi, Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman, supported the representative of Kuwait.

To remind you, the delegates of the organization held a closed meeting on December 1. The OPEC + Ministerial Summit will be held on December 2. The main issue on the agenda will be the approval of the January production policy.
