Parliament of Georgia approves 2022 budget

The Parliament of Georgia has approved the 2022 budget, with 78 MPs approving the new budget and one voting against it. The next year's budget will amount to GEL 19 bln 171 mln. 

A total of GEL 19 bln 171 mln or 9.1% of the total GDP has been allocated for capital expenses. 

The government plans to increase pensions and salaries from 2022. 

The budget of different state agencies has also seen growth. The budget of: a) the Finance Ministry _ GEL 105 mln (an around GEL 16 mln increase); b) the Ministry of Economy _ GEL 912 mln ( a GEL 290 mln increase) c) the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure _ GEL 2.8 bln; d) the Justice Ministry _ GEL 310 mln (a GEL 14 mln increase); e) the Ministry of Foreign affairs _ GEL 176 mln (an almost GEL 6 mln increase); f) the Defense Ministry _ a billion GEL (a 72 mln increase); g) the Ministry of Internal Affairs _ GEL 865 mln (a GEL 85 mln increase); h) the Ministry of Internally Displaced Persons from the Occupied Territories, Labor, Health and Social Affairs _ more than GEL 6 mln; i) The Office of the Minister of Georgia for Reconciliation and Civic Equality _ GEL 3 mln (an around half a million GEL increase); j) the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture _ GEL 593 mln; k) the Ministry of Education and Science _ GEL 1.64 mln; and l) the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport _ GEL 357 mln.
