Petrol and diesel imports increase

As reported by the Union of Oil Importers, in January – June 2020, the imports of petrol and diesel equaled 497,9 thousand tonnes in Georgia.

The rate is 3,6 thousand tonnes (0.5%) more than the indicator of the first half of 2019 (494.3 thousand tonnes).

In January – June 2020, the petrol imports equaled 244,1 thousand tonnes (the decrease equals 259,7 thousand tonnes compared to 2019, i.e., by 6%).

The diesel imports equaled 253,8 thousand tonnes (the increase totals 234,6 thousand tonnes (i.e., 8,2%) compared to 2019).

The highest volume of petrol and diesel was imported from Russia (176,0 thousand tonnes), equalling 35,3% of the total import rate.

Romania and Azerbaijan share the second and third places among the most significant oil importer countries, respectively.
