Prices up in March, mostly on fruits and cheese

As Georgia's National Statistics Office has reported, on an annual basis, the prices on fruits and grapes jumped most, by 29,7%.

Prices on cheese, milk, and egg followed the fruits, increasing by 18,9%.

Compared to March 2019, prices on sugar, jam, and other sweets increased by 14,8%.

As for the prices on meat and meat products, they experienced a 14,7% growth; vegetables – by 12,5%; mineral and natural water, non-alcohol beverages and natural juices – by 10,2%; oil and fat – 9,1%; fish products – by 8,0%; bread and baked products – 7,0%; coffee, tea, and cocoa – by 5,4%.

As reported by the Statistics Office, public feeding showed a 10,3 percent growth in prices.

The inflation level included 0,7% in March 2020 in Georgia, while the annual rate totaled 6,1%.
