Rachuli Lori restores smoked ham traditional production

Rachuli Lori revitalizes the forgotten tradition of smoked ham production. Georgian consumers are well aware of the company’s smoked ham produced according to the traditional method and with the use of new technologies. The product is exported to Europe. The Rachuli Lori enterprise processes over 25 tons of meat. With the support of Agricultural Project Management Agency, the company obtained the ISO 22 000 certificate in 2018.

As stated by Rostom Kobakhidze, the Founder, the company uses local raw material for production. They collect meat from local households, in particular from the population of Racha and Upper Imereti. The company produces 10 tons of ham annually which is produced from 25 tons of raw meat. The company restored the technology with the help of the locals. It is old traditional technologies used by the predecessors.

Rachuli Lori company was equipped according to modern standards with the support from the United Agro-product Project. The total investment was 762,900 GEL out of which 323,876 GEL is the grant fund, 358,024 – is a concessionary loan.

As the reminder, the United Agro-product is a project implemented by the Agricultural Project Management Agency targeting long-range development.
