Restriction on public transport remains effective in Georgia

As reports say, public transport will not resume operation shortly in Georgia.

Transport industry specialist Davit Meskhishvili says the government decision discriminates against the Georgian people living in moderate circumstances.

In his words, the ban on public transport means that only wealthy people can travel in Georgia.

He wrote it on his Facebook page.

As Minister of Health of Georgia, Ekaterina Tikaradze says, people will not maintain social distancing if the public transport resumes operation.

The Health Ministry is developing regulations for public transport and will publicize the rules next week. It may even introduce a limit on the number of passengers.

The transport industry experts issued a manifesto demanding the resumption of public transport.
