Vaccine likely to work against new COVID-19 strain: Moncef Slaoui

With high probability, available coronavirus vaccines will be effective against the new COVID-19 strain, Operation Warp Speed head Moncef Slaoui told CNN.

“I believe currently there is no strain to resist the vaccine. Naturally, we cannot rule it out, but at the moment, there is no such danger,” Slaoui said.

As WHO reports, the new strain of coronavirus, widespread in the UK, was also detected in Denmark, the Netherlands, and Australia.

The new COVID-19 strain was discovered in the UK this week.
