The Tbilisi Court of Appeals upheld the Prosecutor's Office's appeal and overturned the acquittal of the Gurjaani District Court of the summer of 2019. The court found A.A. guilty under Article 138, Part 3, Subparagraph "c" (the act of a sexual nature, committed violently with prior knowledge towards minor).
A 55-year-old A.A. was sentenced to 13 years in prison.
