Badri Esebua's brother remains in custody

The Zugdidi District Court has sentenced Badri Esebua's brother Bidzina Esebua to two months in prison.

The defendant's lawyer demanded that his client be required to post GEL 10,000 and be released from custody; however, the judge refused to meet the demand.

Bidzina Esebua's lawyer maintains that his client is innocent, and he was arrested so that they could exert pressure on Badri Esebua.

Law enforcement officers apprehended wanted Badri Esebua's brother Saturday. Police officers seized ammunition, a sleep sack, clothes, and food products from his car. Reports have it that the defendant contacted his brother, who has recently robbed the bank in Georgia.
