General Prosecutor's Office issues statement

The General Prosecutor's Office of Georgia has released the statement on pressing charges against an offender who subjected a member of the Lelo movement to verbal and physical abuse.

"Following the investigation by the Ministry of Internal Affairs, it has been learned that on 13 October 2020, a man, identified only as T.K. rode a motorcycle, together with other persons, within promotional events organized by one of the companies. He failed to properly maneuver the motorcycle and was involved in an altercation with a Lelo movement member, known only as P.K., who drove a Mercedes car. T.K. abused the driver verbally and physically.

Law enforcement officers arrested the offender the same day on the charges of physically abusing a victim and violating Part 1 of Article 126 of the Criminal Code of Georgia. He faces around a one-year prison sentence," the statement reads.
