Investigative Service finds counterfeit disinfectants

According to the Investigation Service of the Ministry of Finance of Georgia, the agency continues to take appropriate measures to uncover the facts of the falsification of disinfectants.

Report.ge was informed by the agency that criminal proceedings were launched against two heads of the two companies as a result of the investigation.

"Company managers in the villages of Tsilkani, Mtskheta Municipality, and Tbilisi in shops and workshops located at different addresses, in order to obtain illegal material benefits systematically manufactured, packaged, and sold disinfectants of various volumes.

The examination revealed that the disinfectants produced by the above-mentioned companies had changed their quality. The products do not contain the substances indicated on the label and do not meet the requirements of the hygienic reports issued by the National Center for Disease Control and Health.

The crime envisages imprisonment for a term of one to three years," the Investigative Service of the Ministry of Finance said.
