Irakli Shotadze: It is difficult to be a Prosecutor General

"It was not easy for me to decide to enter the competition, I thought about this a lot," Irakli Shotadze, the candidate for the Prosecutor General's Office, said in an introductory speech before the interview.

Shotadze thanked the Academic Council of Georgian Technical University for nominating him as the Prosecutor General. He said that being a Prosecutor General is a difficult job.

"I held this position for several years. I left early due to circumstances known to the public. My days were focused on strengthening the prosecutor's office on the road to establishing the rule of law in our country. During my time as a Prosecutor General, I was successful. I will talk about the challenges facing the prosecution as well," Shotadze said.

The members of the Prosecutorial Council will listen to two candidates today, including the former Prosecutor General, Irakli Shotadze.

Georgian Technical University nominated the lawyer Irakli Shotadze for the vacant position of Prosecutor General of Georgia.

Shotadze held the same post earlier, but he resigned in May 2018 during the Khorava murder developments.
