Mikheil Saakashvili: If not for Nino Lomjaria's courage, I would not be alive now

"Were it not for the courage of Ms. Nino Lomjaria and the principles of her council members, I would not be standing here alive today," the third President of Georgia, Mikheil Saakashvili, stated during his speech at the court.

"Practically, she, along with the Center for Empathy and, most importantly, with the many people on the streets, saved not only my life but also Elene Khoshtaria's and many other hunger strikers, to whom I am very grateful.

Also, I am grateful to Nika Melia for not being deceived by the provocation that took place during my stay in Gldani. It was probably the wish of those who arranged it, on the one hand, to kill me and neutralize everything. Thank you very much to the United National Movement, which is showing restraint but great fighting ability," Saakashvili said.
