Mikheil Saakashvili's court trial to be held in prison, says justice minister

Georgian Justice Minister Rati Bregadze says that ex-president Mikheil Saakashvili's court trial scheduled for the near future will be held in No.12 penitentiary establishment.

In Bregadze's words, everyone has been introduced to the State Security Service's statement saying that if Mikheil Saakashvili is transferred from the prison facility to another establishment, they will try to destabilize the situation and even murder two opposition members. ''We will issue a strict recommendation against allowing the inmate to leave the prison establishment. We are obliged to protect Saakashvili and legal order,'' the minister stressed.
