One person arrested on charges of attempted premeditated murder in Batumi

According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the officers of the Adjara Police Department, as a result of operative-investigative measures, detained L.K., born in 1995, a former convict, on charges of attempted premeditated murder.

According to the agency, the offense carries a maximum sentence of 7 to 15 years in prison.

"Investigation established that the accused wounded N.Sh., born in 1967, during a confrontation in the back with a cold weapon and fled the scene on April 9, 2021, in Batumi. The wounded woman was placed in a medical facility. Her life is not in danger. Police arrested L.K. based on the judge's decision. He was detained in Batumi. The weapon of the crime - a knife - was seized as evidence. The fact of attempted premeditated murder is being investigated under Article 19-108 of the Criminal Code of Georgia," the Ministry of Internal Affairs said in a statement.
