Prosecutor's Office of Georgia issues statement

The Prosecutor's Office of Georgia has released the statement as follows:

''The Prosecutor's Office of Georgia condemns the move by one of the social media outlets to publicize the video footage showing the grave offense committed in Tbilisi.

Dissemination of similar materials does not serve the public interests as similar acts incite violence, violate victims' rights, and hamper the investigation.

We call upon everybody to avoid the dissemination of similar materials.

The Prosecutor's Office of Georgia offers its condolences to the deceased young man's family, relatives, and friends.

The investigation is in its active phase,'' the statement reads.

Nika Kvaratskelia, 22, was shot multiple times on Anjaparidze street, Tbilisi, yesterday.

The young man was taken to Khechanashvili hospital for treatment, but doctors failed to save him.

The man having shot Kvaratskelia multiple times reportedly fled the scene in his car. He was waiting for the 22-year-old near the latter's rented apartment.

Witnesses say they heard nine shots.

Nika Kvaratskelia proves to be the mafia boss's son.
