Eka Beselia: Parallels like this with Sachkhere won't be profitable for Georgian Dream

"I do not think it would be beneficial for the Georgian Dream to draw such parallels with Sachkhere," Eka Beselia, the founder of the party For Justice, said in response to a statement of Georgian Prime Minister Giorgi Gakharia.

Beselia said, talking about the past eight years and nostalgia underscores the ruling team's wrong policies.

"I find it difficult to guess what the Prime Minister meant. It was probably a hint that Sachkhere looks better in terms of amenities and social conditions than other cities. I do not think it was a fair comparison in any way from the head of government. When eight years later, we can not be proud of other cities, other districts, other regions that have advanced in terms of social problems, including infrastructure and economic strength. It means that government policy is failing.

There was a period when there were much more social guarantees and much better conditions in Sachkhere, but that was a few years ago," Eka Beselia said.

The head of the government Giorgi Gakharia, while presenting the majoritarian MPs of Sachkhere, Chiatura, and Kharagauli, said that Sachkhere was established as a model of what Georgia should be like in the future.
