Georgia hands over the chairmanship of GUAM to Moldova

Within the framework of the OSCE Ministerial, the 38th meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers was held at GUAM, chaired by Georgia, under the auspices of the Organization for Democracy and Economic Development.

The meeting was also attended by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan Jeyhun Bayramov, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration of the Republic of Moldova Nicu Popescu, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Dmytro Kuleba, and the Secretary-General of GUAM Altay Efendiyev.

The parties discussed the main issues of cooperation on the organization's agenda, including the prospects for the development and future cooperation within the political, inter-parliamentary, sectoral, and GUAM + formats.

At the end of the meeting, the presidency got handed over to Moldova. Davit Zalkaliani thanked his colleagues for their cooperation during the presidency of Georgia and wished success to the Moldovan side, which will take over the mandate in 2022 for the next year.
