Georgian FM: Both parties seek to tackle the issue

Georgian Foreign Minister Davit Zalkaliani says that both Georgia and Azerbaijan ''seek to tackle the sensitive issue of border demarcation'' in the short run.

''At the high-level meeting, both Georgia and Azerbaijan showed readiness to tackle the issue of border demarcation in the shortest possible time. They both are willing to resolve this issue without damaging strategic partnerships and pursue the interests of both countries. Today's meetings have enabled me to release this statement, as they have made it clear that specific steps will be taken for this purpose. I have talked regarding this matter with my Azerbaijani colleague. The pandemic has slowed down the process; however, we are both willing for the commission to resume its activities in the short term,'' Mr. Zalkaliani declared.
