Georgian parliament approves initiative of setting fines for abandoning pet animals

The Parliament of Georgia has approved the initiative of imposing fines upon owners for abandoning pet animals.

Owners abandoning dogs and cats will be fined GEL 500, and in the case of reoffence, they will be imposed GEL 1,000 fines. Individual entrepreneurs or legal persons will have to pay GEL 1,500 for the same offense, while reoffence will result in GEL 3,000 fines. 

The Law will enter into force at the end of 2022.
