Georgian PM Gharibashvili: Saakashvili foolishly thought we knew nothing

Georgian PM Irakli Gharibashvili has responded to former president Mikheil Saakashvili's detention by saying that he arrived in the country to stage a rally.

''Their plan was as follows: Saakashvili foolishly thought we knew nothing. He thought we refused to believe he planned to arrive here, to slip inside the country. Actually, we had everything under control. He behaved so foolishly. They announced the rally would be held on 3 October, today, on Freedom Square, with Saakashvili to appear before the public as a savior. This would have triggered strong emotions from people, would have shocked them. Imagine, the former president and the current refugee managed all this when we still expected his plane to land in the country,'' Gharibashvili said.
