"We are closely monitoring the recent epidemic situation. A new wave of infection is beginning to emerge, caused by a new strain, "Omicron," and increased mobility on New Year's Eve gatherings and winter resort areas during the holidays," Prime Minister Irakli Gharibashvili stated at the government session.
He called on the population to get vaccinated, noting that the state has already ordered new doses of vaccines as well as Covid treatment.
"Once again, I want to call on the population to vaccinate, vaccinate our relatives, friends, parents, family members. Let's wear masks and keep our distance. This should be our main task now.
We have vaccines on the spot; in addition, we have already ordered medicines," Gharibashvili said.
