Lithuanian President: Pavilion's visit to Georgia has resulted in our damaged image as mediator

Lithuanian President Gitanas NausÄ—da has responded to the visit of Å½ygimantas Pavilionis, the head of the Latvian Seimas Foreign Affairs Committee, to Georgia.

"Mediators' duty is to be focused on producing positive results rather than doing harm. Unfortunately, Pavilion's visit to Georgia has resulted in our damaged image as a mediator in Georgia.

We stand ready to go alone any time or together with our partner Baltic states and Poland to provide Georgia with assistance in these trying times," the president said, adding that Charles Michel's visit to Georgia is not accidental. "We cannot say at this point that results are tangible, but the beginning seems hopeful," he concluded.
