The decision by the Patriarchate was not unexpected for me, Health Minister Ekaterine Tikaradze responded to the statement by Archbishop Jaghmaidze.
"We have endeavoured to find the best possible way out of this situation: an option that would be acceptable for the health ministry, the church, and churchgoers. Accordingly, the decision by the Patriarchate was not unexpected," Tikaradze declared.
